HiFi Farms to Co-Sponsor Cannabis Industry Social with State Treasurer Candidate Tobias Read
Please join us for a social hour with Tobias Read! Tobias has been a major asset in the Oregon House for the cannabis industry for several years, having a cannabis voting record that has always been on the right side of history. Most recently, Tobias championed House Bill 4094, removing all state level criminal penalties for credit unions and banks who choose to work with licensed cannabis businesses.
Many industry members have called this bill "symbolic", however, we beg to differ.
The legal council and head of the compliance department at MAPS Credit Union has informed us that their board will be voting within the next few weeks on opening up bank accounts for any OLCC licensed business!
We see this as a direct result of the passage of HB 4094, which has clearly created some real breathing room for local financial institutions like MAPS to continue to expand their services to the cannabis industry.
